Last post about my attempts to make a flavored stevia liquid, I stated that I had not mixed enough orange peel in with the cut and sifted stevia to give enough flavoring. So I added more orange peel and allowed it to sit in the vodka another 6 weeks. It’s come out with a good orange flavor. However, it is not sweet enough.
At this point, I will add some powdered stevia to bring it to the right sweetness and I’m ok with going that route until I can find a better solution.
Next up, I will get some lemon peel and try making a liquid stevia that is only lemon, to help make sugarless lemonade for my kids.

I am excited to see if you come up w/ a good substitute going forward. We just use the pure extract and organic lemon juice in our home for sugar free lemonade. I haven’t worked much with the liquid stevia flavors, but I do like what I have tried.

I wonder if glycerine would make a sweeter extract than alchohol? But maybe there is a reason to avoid glycerine that I don’t know about.
I’ve talked with some friends and I’m going to try a mixture next. The bottle of the liquid stevia I had said it had water, alcohol and glycerine in it, so I will be giving that a whirl to see if it helps.
I will be interested to hear what happens.
